PURPOSE OF THE JOB: This role will be responsible for handling any design requirements of the company and its customers, producing creative designs of a high standard with technical precision based on given design briefs. Delight customers and sales associates with best-in-class CKC jewellery design
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES::
Key Responsibilities
- Understand customer requirements and create designs accordingly on the showroom floor.
- Create jewellery designs based on customer requirements as well as stock requirements.
- Handle custom orders with precision, ensuring timely completion of designs with all specifications.
- Assist sales staff with customised designing, provide customer consultations, create rough sketches, and advise on technical and aesthetic aspects of designs.
- Visit showrooms regularly and on Designers’ Day to understand product requirements, interact with internal and external customers, showcase portfolios, and gather feedback.
Designing of Jewellery for Stock
- Collect requirement details from concerned teams, conduct basic research, and gather inspiration to understand design needs.
- Present rough sketches for approval and develop concepts further based on approved designs.
- Create stock designs that enhance the overall product offering.
- Innovate within given design briefs and create high-quality designs with creative detailing.
- Coordinate with CAD designers to ensure accurate conversion of sketches into CAD designs.
Creativity of Designs
- Develop creative concepts and innovative designs for competitions to enhance company recognition.
Productivity
- Manage workload effectively and seek guidance from senior designers, supervisors, or managers whenever required.
- Ensure timely completion of assigned tasks while maintaining speed and quality standards.
- Achieve monthly targets and continuously strive to exceed expectations.
Market Trends and Fashion
- Visit lifestyle boutiques, art shows, and exhibitions to analyse the latest trends in the fashion industry and bring fresh ideas to improve sales.
- Continuously update design knowledge through reference books, magazines, and other relevant media.
- Stay updated with market and fashion trends to ensure new designs align with current customer preferences.
Archiving of Designs
- Save and maintain backup copies of physical and digital designs as instructed by supervisors/managers.
- Hand over designs to the Design Assistant for proper archiving and department records.
Other Tasks and Activities
- Perform additional tasks and activities as assigned by the immediate manager.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from NIFT, JD, SNDT, GIA, JSS, Chitrakala Parishat, Kraftshala, or equivalent institution.
- 3–8 years of experience in jewellery design.
- GIA certification will be an added advantage.
- Freelancing and work-from-home opportunities are available.
- Candidates currently employed with a jewellery company must provide a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer if selected.
- Compensation will be based on design deliveries, aligned with the company’s cost structure.
