The C. Krishniah Chetty Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the C. Krishniah Chetty Group of Jewellers, a heritage brand with a legacy spanning over 155 years. Giving back to society has always been at the heart of the C. Krishniah Chetty family. For generations, the family has supported craftsmen, employees, and communities through meaningful initiatives, contributing to temples, schools, and numerous charitable institutions. Building on this enduring legacy of service, the C. Krishniah Chetty Foundation, the C. Krishniah Chetty Charitable Trust, and The Hayagriv & Visala Trust have been working to improve the lives of underprivileged children and families by supporting education and healthcare. Through these initiatives, the Foundation continues its commitment to creating opportunities, empowering communities, and making a lasting difference in society.

STRENGTHENING GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS

The C. Krishniah Chetty Foundation has adopted five government schools in Bengaluru with the vision of creating a better learning environment for children from underserved communities. Through this initiative, the Foundation supports the schools by enhancing educational resources, improving infrastructure, promoting student well-being, and creating opportunities for holistic development.

In addition to academic support, the Foundation regularly conducts health camps, awareness programmes, and educational exposure visits. Students are taken to various iconic institutions and landmarks in Bengaluru, including the Vidhana Soudha (Legislative Assembly), Namma Metro, Museums, Music centres and other places of educational significance, enabling them to learn about governance, public infrastructure, science, history, and civic life through firsthand experience.

The programme has positively impacted over 1,800 students, providing them with a more engaging and nurturing educational environment that encourages learning, builds confidence, broadens their horizons, and inspires them to achieve their full potential.

C KRISHNAIH CHETTY SCHOLARSHIPS FOR GREAT YOUNG MINDS

“Grow with Aspiration and Be an inspiration” - The C. Krishniah Chetty Foundation's Scholarship Program for Great Young Minds has supported over 4,200 underprivileged girl children studying in 8th, 9th, and 10th grades across 174 schools in Bengaluru. The program is designed to empower deserving students by supporting their education and helping them pursue their academic aspirations. To ensure complete transparency, the scholarship amount is paid directly towards the students' school fees into the respective school accounts.

The programme has nurtured future doctors, engineers, scientists, civil servants, entrepreneurs, and other leaders by enabling deserving students to continue their education without financial hardship and pursue their aspirations with confidence.

Its impact is reflected in the outstanding academic achievements of its beneficiaries—two scholarship recipients secured the 2nd Rank in the Karnataka State SSLC Examination in the 2024–25 academic year, and one scholarship recipient secured the 2nd Rank in the 2025–26 academic year, demonstrating the programme's tangible impact in fostering academic excellence.

CAREER GUIDANCE PROGRAMS - SHAPING FUTURE LEADERS:

The C. Krishniah Chetty Foundation believes that every child deserves not only access to education but also the guidance and inspiration to pursue ambitious career goals. Many of our scholarship students aspire to become doctors, engineers, civil servants, chartered accountants, scientists, entrepreneurs, and other professionals. Through our career guidance initiatives, we help transform these aspirations into achievable goals.

The Foundation regularly organizes career guidance and mentorship sessions led by accomplished professionals from diverse fields. Students receive valuable insights into career opportunities, educational pathways, competitive examinations, and the skills required to succeed in their chosen professions.

As part of this initiative, the Foundation has conducted special career guidance sessions on the Indian Administrative Services (IAS) and Chartered Accountancy (CA), featuring successful civil servants and distinguished Chartered Accountants who shared their personal journeys, practical advice, and strategies for success. These interactions motivate students, broaden their career horizons, strengthen.

SCHOOL LIBRARIES – SPACES FOR LEARNING AND GROWTH:

The C. Krishniah Chetty Foundation believes that access to books is essential for nurturing curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love for learning. With this vision, the Foundation has established School Library – Knowledge Hubs in six schools across Bengaluru by providing a carefully curated collection of age-appropriate and curriculum-relevant books.

The libraries include books on science, mathematics, literature, history, general knowledge, biographies, reference materials, and personality development, catering to the academic and intellectual needs of students across different grades.

These library knowledge hubs have created vibrant learning spaces that encourage reading beyond the classroom, strengthen language and comprehension skills, enhance critical thinking, and inspire students to become confident, independent learners. By fostering a strong reading culture, the Foundation is helping students broaden their knowledge and unlock their full potential.

TRANSFORMING LIVES THROUGH EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING:

The Learning Beyond Classrooms programme offers deserving students a unique educational journey that goes far beyond textbooks, combining travel, adventure, culture, and experiential learning. Through this immersive 10-day camp, students gain first-hand exposure to India's diverse landscapes, democratic institutions, history, and heritage while developing essential life skills.

The C. Krishniah Chetty Foundation selects 10 deserving students and 2 teachers from its partner schools to participate in this transformative programme. Over the years, participants have explored Ladakh, visited the SECMOL Campus, trekked through the Himalayan Mountains, and experienced iconic landmarks in Delhi, including the Parliament House and Rashtrapati Bhavan. These journeys provide opportunities to interact with leaders and experts, broaden their perspectives, and gain a deeper understanding of the nation.

Beyond academic learning, the programme nurtures leadership, resilience, teamwork, discipline, problem-solving abilities, environmental awareness, and self-confidence. By learning through real-life experiences, students return inspired to become responsible, informed, and compassionate citizens.

BHARATANATYAM DANCE TRAINING

C. Krishniah Chetty Foundation has initiated a two-year Bharatanatyam Training Program for 25 underprivileged girl children with the objective of preserving and promoting India's rich classical dance heritage while empowering young talent.

A structured audition process was conducted to identify and select deserving students with an aptitude and passion for classical dance. The selected children are receiving professional training from the renowned Sangeeth Nritya Bharathi Academy, under the guidance of experienced Bharatanatyam instructor.

As part of this initiative, the Foundation supports the students in appearing for professional Bharatanatyam examinations and provides them with opportunities to perform on stage during cultural events organized by the C. Krishniah Chetty Group of Jewellers. The programme aims to nurture their artistic abilities, build confidence, instill discipline, and create a strong foundation for their future in the field of classical dance.

SPORTS FOR YOUNG MINDS:

The C. Krishniah Chetty Foundation organizes an Annual Sports Meet to promote the importance of physical fitness, discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship among school children. Every year, over 500 students from multiple government and aided schools across Bengaluru participate in this event, competing in a variety of individual and team sports.

The Sports Meet provides children with a platform to showcase their talent, develop leadership qualities, build self-confidence, and learn the values of perseverance and fair play. A range of athletic and recreational competitions are conducted, encouraging healthy competition and holistic development beyond academics.

To recognize excellence and inspire continued participation, the Foundation presents individual prizes, medals, certificates, and a prestigious Rolling Trophy to the best-performing school. Through this annual initiative, the Foundation encourages young minds to embrace an active lifestyle while fostering teamwork, resilience, and the spirit of healthy competition.

TRAFFIC WARDEN VOLUNTEER PROGRAMME:

The C. Krishniah Chetty Group of Jewellers is proud to be the first corporate organization to officially partner with the Traffic Warden Organisation in its 35-year history, setting a benchmark for corporate participation in civic service.

The initiative comprises 20 volunteer Traffic Wardens from across the CKC Group, including Managing Director Dr. C. Vinod Hayagriv and Director Mr. Chaitanya V. Cotha, who actively volunteer their time in support of the Bengaluru Traffic Police. Collectively, the team has contributed over 5,200 hours of voluntary traffic warden service, assisting with traffic management, promoting road safety awareness, and helping create a safer and more disciplined road environment for the public. This initiative reflects the Group's strong commitment to responsible citizenship, employee volunteerism, and community service, inspiring greater corporate participation in civic initiatives that make a meaningful difference to society.
